our ai philosophy

We aren’t AI‑powered. We power AI.

Our Manifesto

Drafting and producing got easy. Defining and validating didn’t.

AI now does the middle of almost every task: the drafting, the formatting, the producing. We own the two ends that decide whether the work was worth doing: defining the right problem and validating the answer.

We are pro-AI and anti-haphazard. The goal is never just speed. Speed is a byproduct we reinvest, not a target we chase.

ai philosophy contd.

Own the inputs. Influence the outputs.

While production of the final deliverable is still vital to our services, we spend substantially more time on two ends of the process:

  1. Defining the why and context behind our work
  2. Validating its correctness and effectiveness before it ships

We believe AI’s outputs are only as good as the inputs you feed it. Our goal is higher-quality, more consistent work.

Through our efforts, our work continues to carry expertise, creativity, and original thought.

  1. Definethe problem
  2. Draftthe approach
  3. Producethe work
  4. Validatethe result

how we use ai

Less time on routine. More time on ideas.

For

  • Mechanical volume: Formatting, extraction, and first drafts from approved briefs.
  • Capacity: One person can cover more ground with skills and connectors.
  • Prep: Research consolidation, reporting prep, and workflow automation.
  • Maintenance: Speed on the routine tasks so human hours go to thinking and strategy.

Not for

  • Fabricating insight: Creating work without a “why.”
  • Expertise: Substituting our marketing know-how.
  • Carte Blanche Research: Citing unverified numbers or sources.
  • Legal: Making claims or using language void of human oversight.

Our six commandments

  1. Strategy precedes building. Every shipped change has a why we can state succinctly.
  2. At least one gate before publishing, always. This can be a checklist, an angle confirmation, or an SEO review.
  3. AI-generated work gets a brand and accuracy pass before it ships.
  4. Inputs are version-controlled. Prompts, briefs, and client docs are all auditable.
  5. Tokens and prompts are owned inputs too, spent with the same discipline as billable hours.
  6. “Claude wrote it” is not a defense and never will be. The producer’s name goes on the deliverable.

Frequently asked questions.

How do marketing agencies use AI?

Marketing agencies use AI to speed up work like formatting, research, data extraction, reporting prep, and first drafts. The strongest agencies put human insight and strategy as input and use scrupulous validation to double-check the work. While AI handles volume, people own the why, the creative thinking, and the final call on quality.

How does Marketwake use AI?

Marketwake uses AI for volume, capacity, prep, and maintenance. This can include first drafts from approved briefs, initial research, reporting prep, and workflow automation. We don’t use AI to fabricate insight, replace expertise, cite unverified sources, or make legal claims without human oversight.

Is Marketwake an AI-powered agency?

No. Marketwake isn’t “AI-powered.” We power AI. An AI-powered agency lets the tool drive the work. We do the opposite. Our strategists define the problem, context, and goals before any tool is involved, then validate every result before it ships.

Will AI replace marketing agencies?

AI is replacing parts of production at marketing agencies. However, it is not replacing the thinking behind it. Drafting and formatting are now faster means of production, which means polished-but-shallow content is everywhere. What AI can’t supply is strategic context, original ideas, and judgment about what’s true and effective.

What is AI slop?

AI slop is content generated quickly by AI with little strategy, fact-checking, or original thought behind it. It often looks polished enough to pass as finished but says nothing new, repeats generic claims, or contains errors.

How do you make sure AI-generated content is accurate and on-brand?

At Marketwake, every piece of AI-assisted work gets at least one human gate before publishing. It also gets a dedicated brand and accuracy pass. Sources and statistics are verified by a person, and the producer’s name is attached to the deliverable.

Is AI-generated content bad for SEO?

Not inherently. Search engines reward helpful, accurate, original content regardless of how it’s produced. AI-generated content hurts SEO when it’s repetitive or doesn’t add new information. Content that starts from real search intent and strategic context, then gets expert review, can perform well in traditional search and in AI-generated answers.

Does AI make your marketing work faster?

At Marketwake, speed is a byproduct of AI. While AI shortens routine tasks like formatting and first drafts, it mainly frees our team’s hours for strategy, creative thinking, and review. The result is higher-quality, more consistent work.

How can I tell if an agency uses AI responsibly?

Ask how the agency defines strategy before work begins. See their review process and ascertain who is accountable for the final deliverable. A responsible agency finds the “why” behind each piece, verifies its sources, documents its prompts and briefs, and never blames the tool for a mistake.
