What better way to experience Atlanta than through the eyes of those who love her best? Dive into everything: where to visit, what to do, where to grab a bite (and a beer), handpicked by one of the Marketwake teammates. Best part: You’ll learn a little bit about each one of us along the way!
There are so many things! The arts and culture of Atlanta are some of my favorite things about the city — from the traveling Broadway plays at the Alliance Theatre to the amazing exhibitions at the High Museum. Not to mention Atlanta is also full of beautiful parks including Piedmont Park, which houses one of my fav places: the Atlanta Botanical Garden.
Atlanta Breakfast Club is one of my favorite places to grab a bite. This downtown restaurant is known for its fantastic breakfast (duh) with a famously delicious Southern twist added to every entree. My regular order is the crispy chicken and waffles and it’s always exactly what I need.
If I’m grabbing a drink in Atlanta, then I am going to Trader Vic’s, the home of the original Mai Tai. Go when there’s a live band booked, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to try all of the Polynesian-inspired cocktails, not just the one that made them famous.
DUCKPIN BOWLING at The Painted Duck. Similar to regular bowling, players use three slightly smaller balls to knock out normal-sized pins. Go for the games, but don’t leave without trying the duck fat french fries. Bonus: The Painted Duck is located in West Midtown, one of the coolest neighborhoods in ATL, so explore while you’re out there, making stops at Terminal West, Little Trouble, and Northside Tavern, too.
Consider this more of a strong suggestion: Get a Peach Pass. It’s a life saver, providing a much-needed express lane in and around Atlanta and I wouldn’t be sane without it.
