Marketwake is growing and looking for a highly skilled, creative, and strategic marketing leader to be our next Creative Director. This person must conceive and implement visual marketing programs that range from digital campaigns to print media. The Creative Director will be responsible for developing engaging collateral for our clients that tells a story and elicits an emotional response from readers. A successful candidate will work closely with our design and marketing teams to deliver content that exceeds the expectations of our clients.
This person needs to have experience in graphic and visual design, people management, and be open to learning new skills and working with a wide variety of clients and industries.
Requirements & Responsibilities
- Ensure that each project has the specific financial and personnel resources it requires to be successful
- Attend sales presentations to help clients understand the creative angle of each marketing program
- Work with the executive team to implement marketing materials for the firm to help increase the firm's exposure
- Collaborate with design personnel to ensure that all creative ideas are presented properly
- Mentor and encourage creative team members to foster a positive work environment
- Shoulder the responsibility of the quality and completion of all work projects assigned to members of the creative team
- Ensure designs and content reflect consistently and positively the brand image and company ideals
- Work with internal and external strategic partners to create products using the most current industry best practices
- Serve as a liaison between the marketing and creative team and between the creative team and individual clients
- Understand and execute digital design projects with attention to detail for several clients across multiple industries
- Possess in-depth knowledge of typography, iconography, color, space, and texture.
- Meet with clients, Account Managers and/or CCO to determine best strategic and design direction for projects
- Absorb and apply feedback well
- Propose new design strategies and fresh ideas to help clients best reach their audience through visual design
- Maintain technical knowledge by participating in workshops, conferences and/or online continuing education courses
- Display proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and AfterEffects
- Experience with web design is a plus
Qualifications
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are non-negotiable)
- 5+ years' experience in a marketing leadership role
- Proven success in managing marketing and creative teams
- Portfolio of previous work that displays an ability to turn an idea into a visual content
- Strong communication skills
- Good comfort level interacting with high-profile clients and industry professionals
- Evidence of participation in ongoing professional development opportunities in the areas of graphic design or social media
- Recent hands-on experience with applying design, copy, or web best practices
- Professional business skills, such as negotiation, project management, and leadership
